Memories of 2014

This past year was wonderful.  I had the most amazing opportunities to row with new and old friends in beautiful destinations. Thank you very much to everyone.   I’ve created a brief memory slide show.  It was very hard to select just one photo per trip!  As for the music, well, it came with the slide show …  Wishing everyone a terrific rowing travel in 2015!

Hi Ruth, Happy New Year! ~ Loved the link re the ice skating. It looks wonderful, and the warming shelters look interesting too. saw your post just as I had returned from a skating session at a temporary ice rink in front of Hampton Court Palace, the river looked so vast by comparison.
Unfortunately I can’t open the link to your Memories of 2014 slideshow. It may just be me!
Wishing you Happy Travels in 2015, and hope to see you on the Thames when you visit.

Hi Viv – lovely to hear from you! Happy New Year to you too! Wonderful that you are skating at Hampton Court. Yes, the ice “rink” on the River Trail sometimes rates as the world’s longest. All depends on the freeze-up and ice conditions. Some years it can be as long as 11 km, quite remarkable. The warm-up shelters have become famous and they are quite fantastic to see. If you want to see some more images, please dig deeper into my blog posts. I did one about a year ago titled “When You Can’t Row”. By the way, they put a pop-up restaurant on the ice too! You should come and visit! Sorry that the Smilebox is not working – perhaps try it off the Facebook page? I hope to run a Thames tour in June. I will look forward to seeing you and the other Weybridge ladies then. Best – Ruth
